What is ResCoM about?

ResCoM is a project funded by the European Commission that developed a methodology and tools to help designers and manufacturers understand how the collection, remanufacturing and reuse of discarded products will lead to more profitable, resource-efficient and resilient business practices.

What are the outcomes of the ResCoM project?

The project developed the ResCoM software platform: a collaborative decision-support platform consisting of a variety of tools for designers and manufacturers. These tools can help guide design decisions by illustrating the benefits of closed-loop product design in terms of economic impact, resource efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions and energy use.

The platform is supported by four industrial case studies and several other project outcomes.

What is the timeline?

The project started November 2013 and will run for four full years until the end of October 2017.

Who is involved in the ResCoM project?

ResCoM involves a consortium of 12 partners, including universities, technology providers and manufacturers. The project is led by KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
