KTH Royal Institute of Technology

KTH is the largest technical university in Sweden, with 13,000 undergraduates and 1,700 postgraduates. KTH operates through ten schools, each with a large number of departments. 

The KTH Department of Production Engineering operates under the School of Industrial Engineering and Management, and is the home of three active research divisions focusing on different aspects of manufacturing. The division of Manufacturing and Metrology Systems (MMS) is leading the research in the ResCoM project. The MMS division is actively involved in research on resource conservation in production systems (reducing energy / material consumptions and waste) and product systems (adoption of multiple lifecycle product systems).

Role in the project

KTH is coordinating the ResCoM project and leads the Project Management work package. KTH is also leading on Requirement Analysis and Framework Definition. KTH's responsibilities also include supporting other work packages, including Design for Multiple Lifecycles, Supply Chains and Business Models for Multiple Lifecycle and the Collaborative Software Platform. KTH will support specific pilots in the industrial pilot evaluation work package. Finally, KTH will lead the scientific dissemination of the project.
